New to the scene and just have a simple I/O question.
On the Arduino website, under http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/Button, the image used to build the circuit has one red wire and one black wire stretching across the board from one end to the other. I was wonder why? I've gotten it to work outwith it, just not sure what those red and black wires were used for.
its just connecting both sides of the breadboard to power and ground, its not always convenient to power everything from the same side.
I have wires like that on my breadboard too, I dont think I had removed them in a few years until I had to mess with something that had 3.3v and 5 volts on the breadboard at the same time.
