I like the switch too... it's vandalism proof, costs 6,30 €. Not so much compared to the rest of the compartment.

Nice project! i hope to make something similar soon with one more component.
I want to also use a WiShield to send the data to a web page.
Right now I'm learnig how XBEEs work.
Was it hard to integrate the solar panel aspect of this project?

I had some problems with the LiPoly charger, destroyed 2 of them. I suppose, the voltage from the solar panels has been to high (even so rated at 6V, input max for the charger 7V). Therefore I added a voltage regulator to keep the voltage at 5V. Otherwise the mechanical work has been the hardest. I found it hard to integrate a webserver into the system, therefore I setup a datalogger with webserver capability (see same forum).

Am looking to build your weather station for my Opa in Furth,but am having difficulty finding a 20x4 Serial LCD. Could you point me to where you purchased it from so that I don't have to re-write the code for an I2C 20x4 LCD.

Looking good, but reading through the pdf files I noticed it says you are using li-ion batteries for the transmitter.

Isn't it li-po batteries? I got a li-po battery, looking exactly like yours, and you are also using a li-po charger for the battery.

Actually the battery is called polymer lithium ion - you are right!
