Directly interfacing a bluetooth dongle

I bought a really cheap usb dongle and am wondering if it is possible for me to connect it to my Uno without any extra hardware.
If not is there a minimum circuit I could use with it?
I am thinking that I could just mount a usb socket on a piece of veroboard and wire it up.

Being a USB host is non-trivial.

Can it be connected as a client then? Or is that asking too much as well?

As you can probably guess I know little about this :frowning:

My other thought is can I open it up and access the bluetooth device some other way

you'd be better off buying a bluetooth RS232 board from deal extreme for 6$, and hooking all of 4 wires to your arduino.

Okay thanks,

I am in the Uk but I found this on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arduino-Serial-Bluetooth-RF-Transceiver-Module-RS232-SL-/300602676989

can we directly interface USB dongle with arduino board for transmitting datas to the lap ????? :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless: :expressionless:
