I should create a poe adapter to give power to an ATmega328P

Do you need a power-over-ethernet injector or do you need the client side. Arduino sells a power-over-ethernet module to be soldered onto their Ethernet Shield: http://store.arduino.cc/eu/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11&products_id=148.

Since the module being discussed attaches to an Ethernet shield, I don't see the relevance of your statement. You are attaching the Ethernet shield to the board somehow, aren't you?
