North-East England

Wow! Thanks Guys, will defiantly be keeping an eye out on all of these. Maybe even see some of you soon

defiantly

Arghh!

There are plenty of people hacking and messing with Arduino up here, but we're probably not organised to have met or set up a mailing list. I can point you in the right direction to a few people, but not events. Find me on twitter with this username.

Take a look on the Arduino User Map

I agree, there's a quite a few Arduino users at the regular Dorkbot session (Centre for Life, Newcastle) but we don't seem very well organised outside of that.

If there's enough interest we can organise a regular Arduino (or any maker activity) get together / project session. Reply here if you're interested or PM me and we'll see if we can organise something :D.

ps:

You can sign up for Dorkbot @ Newcastle announcements here:

I am definitely That is for you mowcius  interested in a meet up / project session. I have been thinking of setting up a (at first online) hackerspace for the north east as i live in Teesside Coughs and there seems to be a gap from Leeds to Newcastle.

Indeed there is.

Plenty of unicyclists in Stockton on Tees though, fancy a new hobby?

Surprisingly enough mowcius there are  and i know some of them. Any one panning anything over the next couple of weeks? PM me or post here. It would be good to get an active community for Arduino etc going in the area.

Well the club has over 200 members :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm, apart from the Newcastle Maker Faire (12th-13th March), I don't know of any electronics/arduino related stuff that happens up there.

I'd suggest you go along to the Maker Faire to find out about any people who may be close to you.

Come along to the next Newcastle Dorkbot, there's usually a few of us there.

Maker Faire UK is coming to Newcastle on 12 & 13th March

I will be showing my Hexom there

Sounds cool !

I look forward to seeing it

Now you mension it, I have quite fancied taking up unicycling... (Is unicycling even a word?)

Onions.

(Is unicycling even a word?)

Yes

If you're serious in taking it up then get in contact with JUST and/or go visit the UUU forum. You never know, maybe some day we'll meet up due to unicycling rather than Arduino

Very possibly! I fancied trying unicycling for a while, after seeing a unicycle in a shop window somewhere. Hopefully I can find one for sale somewhere near...

If you want something half decent then ask around on the forum. You should be able to get something second hand for the price of some cheap rubbish you might find in a shop :stuck_out_tongue:

I was looking at this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-20-inch-UNICYCLE-STAND-AND-SPARE-INNER-TUBE-/370374163153?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item563c053ad1

or this:

But it sounds like a good idea to ask on the unicycle forum.

Thanks! Onions.

They look cheap quality and not even that good value for what they are.

Depends how much you want to spend though.

How about this for a uni cycle
