first arduino

I am working on my bachelor's in electronic engineering. I am new to everything. I want to get an arduino just to mess with but do not really know where to start. I would rather spend a little more and get something I could use for a while with no problems. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Inventor's kit from sparkfun should works

Get an Arduino Uno.

Then, read a few Instructables and start buying components including a breadboard, jumper cables, sensors, etc or just get a starter kit.

Dear all,

I would like to buy an Arduino kit to introduce it to my nephew (14years old) but he doesn't speak that much English. He speaks both Spanish and French. Is there any possibility to get the tutorials and/or manuals in either of these two languages?

Many thanks in advance.

Cristina

Hi Andy.

Yes there are quite a few sources for multiple languages.

French starting point HERE

If buying an official kit I do believe you also have the option to state language too at the time of purchase.

Some other sellers also have the kit in more than one language.

Another link HERE.

More importantly see this page

In spanish you have :
http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?board=32.0

In french :

With a subforum for tutoriaux:

In french you have also the best tuto I have read : this of Eskimon :
