for the friends i still have left, if any, i am doing a little better after my... whatever that was. there were times i was on the edge of sanity, but by forcing myself to concentrate on an Arduino project, weather i build it or not, has helped me to focus. so i am not going to hurt myself, despite the haters.

currently, i am working on some sort of complete automation controller for my camper. for some reason i thought it would need a PS/2 keyboard interface. not sure if i will use it, but trying to wrap my brain around the code to make it work seems to be clearing my head. lol, you might be a techie, if writing code is relaxing.

but enough about that "other topic". lets keep the forum clean, for the greater good.

Good to hear!

But why would a camper need a ps/2 interface? USB I'd get. But the ps/2 protocol(s) were just dumb. You couldn't daisy chain a keyboard and a mouse, and to differentiate between the two, they must have had IBM's best human interface people pick the two colors that colorblind people absolutely cannot see!

because i can use PS/2 with an arduino. ;)

i would have to change the interface to using an Rpi to really make use of USB. can be done... rather than a GUI interface, to begin with, i would probably start with command line applications, and build up to GUI.

I just happened to download a Rpi cross-compiler that i haven't tested, so i can still code in C++.
...i just may change gears, and see what i can do with an Rpi interface. any arduinos used would probably have to plug in through USB (through a powered hub), as i think the Rpi has only one UART, and it is 3v3.

got me thinking... i will see what i dredge up for ideas.

can't seem to get the cross-compiler to work with Code::Blocks IDE. figures. i may just have to try something different... not sure what yet. i feel a bit out of my element with a Rpi. i like coding on my laptop, and then just moving it over. the screen i have for my Rpi is a 7 inch HDMI, open frame screen. a bit small to code on directly. i suppose in time i will buy a bigger screen, and embed it into a wooden screen holder, so i can use it like a laptop, sort of. until then, i will stick with my PS/2 keyboard terminal thing. or learn Python for Rpi  :smiley-confuse:

Just cranking some tunes, to ease the mind.
i have it streaming on my personal icecast server (the "Slow Host" link on my server).
this is a live sample of my computers soundcard, so you will likely hear any annoying tones from Windows 10.
I have a wide range of music, so it could be anything playing. this is not playing on my Caster.fm server, as it is not royalty free music. i am just listening to whatever music...

i can't do Hulu, though not sure what regulations it would be breaking.
just flipped some channels on the TV, no Olympics on any of them, very strange actually.

Good to see you are back.

I stood at the top of an Olympic ski-jump once, it was terrifying. How people can train themselves to make those jumps is beyond my understanding.

i suspect they use the bathroom before every jump, to prevent accidents.
