Power arduino with external power converter

Using Arduino Motors, Mechanics, Power and CNC

So I'm going to be setting up an Arduino to control a DC stepper motor. I will be using this power supply to power the motor

Can I also use this to power the Arduino and if so what's the proper way to do so without damaging the Arduino?

12volt sounds low for a stepper motor.
