Title: Retired products
Post by: testpresta2 on Apr 09, 2018, 07:27 pm
Hello,

I have seen that Leonardo Ethernet and Ethernet shields are retired !

Why ?

These are great products !

Is there something to replace ?

Thanks

That is a shame about the Ethernet Shield. That was originally an arduino.org product and it seems like most of those have been getting retired. I think it's not so common to use Ethernet anymore. Everything is WiFi.

As for the Leonardo ETH, I think the ATmega32U4 boards should only be used when you need the native USB functionality. So that's a pretty niche usage when you need both native USB and Ethernet. Better for the people who do to just put an Ethernet shield on a Leonardo rather than having such a specialized product.
