I cannot find arduino on device manager..No reaction on computer when arduino is plugged in(win 7)

nope 32 bit!

I am having some problems with my Arduino Deumilanove. I cannot seen t install on Windows Xp or 7. I have installed it before on XP but i havent used my arduino for a long time ... Most of the time XP does not even acknowledge  that something has been plugged in and when it does the wizard does not come up. in Windows 7 it does not even show anything is plugged in..
Please help I am A noob At computer and Arduino

Also, i was wondering if i could use the ISCP port to connect to the serial port of my computer and bypass the FTDI chip. If so, where would i find the cable?

OK so negative to gnd  and resistor at the gate. How much current is the maximum at gate?thank you for telling me anout that 10v problem. Is it possible to step up the voltage from the arduino?

The mosfet is an irfz44n and i am going to run the hello world code.The mosfet will be connected to pin 13. Also please send me any sites to help

It appears to be functionally very similar (wth a bit better specifications) but the interface is dramatically different.  Access to the Sunrom device is via TTL serial.  Access to the Ping is via a pulsed pin.
