31  Community / Bar Sport / Chinese Laser Cutter Modifications on: October 17, 2011, 06:22:38 am
I've bought a Chinese laser cutter off eBay and I'm doing a number of modifications to it - just thought people might be interested - it's being documented here: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/laser_engraving_cutting_machines/138554-cheap_laser_cutter_modifications.html

I'm going to be adding lots of extra electronics too it which will probably appeal members of this community more but I'm working up to that - major mods first (like a new alu honeycomb bed, extraction, cooling etc.)

Feel free to ask any questions/make suggestions.

Pics with short captions are all on my Google+ here: http://plus.google.com/photos/114914009219195219650/albums/5664053382930806001

I haven't looked at this code for a long time but you really want to have the input time as UT rather than subtracting 5 because it will go from -5:00 to 19:00 which will no doubt not play too happy in the code.

Well I'll be sitting ready for any updates smiley

I think I'd have thrown the family out already if it was my workshop smiley-razz

Well the spam's annoying but it reminded me of this thread - any updates?

I added my name alphabetically to the list because that's how it looked like it was arranged.  I hope that was ok.
Ahh great - that'll be why I didn't see it - most people don't do that so they just appear at the end.

You did?

I didn't see it when I just cleaned up some spam markers.

Well it is the motor that simply doesn't work but I haven't got round to looking at it in detail.

Perhaps I could fix it but I don't want to use it as a robot vac anyway smiley-grin

Well if nobody wants it then it might sit around for a while longer smiley-wink

for a small under 1Kg package.
Unfortunately it weighs rather more than that and isn't a small package either - even in a different box.

Well yeah but businesses get cheaper shipping than individuals.

Maybe it could be a little less than £40 but still not worth it - I'm also not prepared to go through that much hassle smiley-grin

We're talking about £40 if you want to get it in 2 months smiley-grin

Well I'm happy to look into shipping prices but there's not much point really as I'm sure it won't be worth it.

Where are you located?

Check the Arduino user map for people/groups close to you.

I'm having one of those clear outs which you regret a few months later after you realise you've chucked out what you need but it's got to be done.

Anyway, the Roomba's a model 530 and the vac unit is broken (not sure what's up with that but I can't say it matters). I've had it driving around controlled by my arduino so the control interface and drive all works fine. I've had it hanging around for ages now and keep telling myself I'm going to use it and haven't got round to it so I think it's time for it to go.

If someone's interested then send me a PM with an offer and we can negotiate something.

Sorry, UK only though as shipping costs will stop it being worth it for anyone abroad.

How much memory does ipad 2 have? 512?
Well as my friend's Galaxy S II has a dual core 1.5GHz processor 1GB RAM, that's a bit rubbish...
