The forum seems ok, but the auth server and the playground are almost unusable.

Yes, this is a busy day...
Progressive improvements in performances are voided by increasing traffic, often of malicious nature.
I'm tuning right now some option to free more workload from authentication servers.

Looks like the screwed up font has caught up we me also.

Which screen resolution are you using?
Of course so broken labels are not a "feature", your bad visualization may depend by some condition not properly tested by designers.

I have noticed the last few days that the forum feels a bit slow and clunky when connected from both work and home and was wondering if there is a reason for this.

The Arduino authentication system, which is a core component of all Arduino services (including, of course, this Forum), has been and still is target for a massive distributed attack. In random periods, that server receives whole bursts of connections which slow down the server itself and, as a conseguence, processing of internal requests (mostly about sessions validation).

In last two days some measure has been adopted, more or less effective in isolating the issue. The conditions are still not optimal, neither the problem solved, but some progress has been achieved.
As now, most of the issue should be limited to the log-in and no longer should involve other services.

"You must be logged in with your Arduino account to post a comment."

Should now be fixed.
The latest upgrade of Wordpress broke the plugin implementing the integration with Arduino authentication system.

What is the problem?

Issues on the service hosting the files.
Work in progress to fix it or at least find a temporary rapid solution.

It's really great to have someone from the admin team regularly participating here.

"Regularly" is not the exact definition. It happened I had some little spare time to spend replying some pending post, but cannot grant any continous presence.

In the past it has felt like we were talking to ourselves and the debelopment team just didn't care what we thought or what corrections or improvements we suggested.

It is absolutely not true "the development team do not care". Indeed, the dev team is too small and has to keep working a million users web platform as * (which involve not only the Forum but also Arduino Store and other components).

Thanks for the notice, I've moved it on the issue tracker on GitHub to involve documentation maintainers:

For future reference:
- to add informations about an approved Arduino reseller, send a mail to
- to apply to become an approved Arduino reseller, send a mail to

Still no change to the ethernet udp reference page.

Corrections have to be reviewed and validated, cannot be applied "as is". This is the reason for which sometime those stay pending for a while.

The issue in object has been fixed.

For that kind of issues, send a mail including the actual tax code you have to input to

Situation is (almost) completely restored.
Now CSS and web font files are both fetched by external services, but I'm going to host them on our own servers to grant a minimal availability and avoid this kind of massive break.

First of all: the change in embedded fonts has not been intentional, but triggered by some kind of unexpected modification.

The main issue of the "all caps" has been mitigated by changing a parameter in one of the CSS files embedded into the forum, for many users the problem has been visible for long time (and probably still visible) due the previous broken version was cached by the web browser.

I'm in touch with developers from Typonine, the web font provider, to recover a copy of the previously used web font file. The previous copy just disappeared from the net (trying to access it, a HTTP 403 error is raised), the copy now reachable involves the "all caps" issue, just waiting for a reference to a valid copy to replace back.

Its not a bb tag causing the problem. His signature has been truncated leaving a half finished piece of HTML

Fixed, thanks for the hint.

Maybe you should simply remove the feature if it that problematic.

This is not a so bad idea...

However, signatures aside, right now it is not possible to set any profile information.

I've just provided some modification in that part of code: can you please try again and let me know if it works?
