Situation is (almost) completely restored.
Now CSS and web font files are both fetched by external services, but I'm going to host them on our own servers to grant a minimal availability and avoid this kind of massive break.

First of all: the change in embedded fonts has not been intentional, but triggered by some kind of unexpected modification.

The main issue of the "all caps" has been mitigated by changing a parameter in one of the CSS files embedded into the forum, for many users the problem has been visible for long time (and probably still visible) due the previous broken version was cached by the web browser.

I'm in touch with developers from Typonine, the web font provider, to recover a copy of the previously used web font file. The previous copy just disappeared from the net (trying to access it, a HTTP 403 error is raised), the copy now reachable involves the "all caps" issue, just waiting for a reference to a valid copy to replace back.

Its not a bb tag causing the problem. His signature has been truncated leaving a half finished piece of HTML

Fixed, thanks for the hint.

Maybe you should simply remove the feature if it that problematic.

This is not a so bad idea...

However, signatures aside, right now it is not possible to set any profile information.

I've just provided some modification in that part of code: can you please try again and let me know if it works?

If i would receive such mail without my request, i'd check to see the link actually would lead you to the Arduino site, or to some other site most likely phishing for your password.

I received many similar reports by other people, and I'm a bit concerned about potential phishing aimed to Arduino users.
LongTom: can you double check the link reported into the mail? Do it refers to id.arduino.cc or another domain?
Please forward that mail to webmaster@arduino.cc so I'm able to get a look.

This issue is by no means fixed and it is about time someone did something about it.

A.A.A. experienced web developer affected by the Internet Explorer issue wanted, given that it happens only for particular conditions and I'm unable to reproduce it on any computer (so I'm unable to collect informations aimed to identify and solve it).
A contributor with knowledge about cookies, sessions and HTTP statuses would be welcome.

I just wanted to let you know that ever since the upgrade I'm getting multiple bad security certificate warnings whenever I try to login from my Android

The issue has already been identified and the reason is related to embedded files included into the page, still an effective solution has to be implemented but we are working on this.
Thanks for the alert.

In the end the issue has been identified in some exotic SSL setup, and should be fixed now.

Pages take around 12 to 20 seconds to load, even a simple Back or page refresh.

Major cause of delays in loading has been identified in external contents (expecially: CSS files), and this has been fixed some week ago by moving the files on different servers. Can you confirm an improvement in loading time?
10  Community / Website and Forum / Re: Double slash // on: November 04, 2013, 09:41:30 am
Somewhere in its code the forum is inserting a double slash in the URL.

Fixed.
Let me know if some URL has been broken by the change (it is possible that some forum.arduino.cc/foobar has become forum.arduino.ccfoobar, which is invalid address).

Please help us.

Now it should be fixed, let me know if you are able to continue in the procedure or are still stuck on exotic error pages.

Please fix this, it has made a PITA to use the arduino website for the whole past week.

I've just moved the target CSS on Arduino server (right now only for the Forum, if it works will be propagated to other services).
Do it performs better for you?

Edit: Um, nope, not working.

As always, and very often repeated: please be sure to load the currents CSS file into the cache of your browser.
Sometime it is enough to press Ctrl+F5, sometime else it is required a full flush of the local cache by the control panel of the Internet browser.
