151  Using Arduino / Motors, Mechanics, and Power / Re: Servo Control on: October 28, 2012, 05:28:34 am
What about this board? https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10616?

I replaced the servos that came with the EZ-Robot kit with HD servos from Polou. I thought that the EZ-Board was bad but I found out that it worked better on my newer home computer than my older computer at the program for mentally handicapped people.

I connected my homemade biped robot to Arduino UNO board and it worked better than when connected to EZ-Robot board.

Does her office have windows where co-workers can watch her?
155  Using Arduino / Motors, Mechanics, and Power / Re: Stepper motors can not get past 150rpm on: October 22, 2012, 08:03:49 pm
Disconnect the motor from the carriage and see if the motor runs faster. If so, something in the carriage is preventing the motor from running faster.

What about dogs? There are different kinds of epileptic siezures.
157  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Radio Transmitter for Arduino Uno? on: October 15, 2012, 04:58:41 am
I got the VEX Robotics R/C Transmitter that has a tether port. I don't know who makes the R/C Transmitter. How do I connect the R/C Transmitter to my computer? It has FM 75.61 MHZ Crystals.
158  Using Arduino / Motors, Mechanics, and Power / Servo torque calculator? on: October 11, 2012, 07:56:10 pm
Is there a servo torque calculator? I need a servo that can lift a 1-foot long leg weighing 1 pound.
159  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: New into Electronics and Robotics! What Kit Should I buy Next? on: October 11, 2012, 03:15:27 pm
If you're going to build a robot that uses a lot of servos, EZ-Robot kit is better than other kits because it has 20 servo ports. Lego Mindstorms kits have only three or four servo/motor ports. Arduino and BASIC Stamp kits have a limited number of servo ports.
160  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: New into Electronics and Robotics! What Kit Should I buy Next? on: October 11, 2012, 05:08:00 am
I'll suggest the EZ-Robot kit if you're interested in making robots.
161  Using Arduino / Networking, Protocols, and Devices / Re: How to get Bluetooth module working with Arduino UNO? on: October 09, 2012, 07:54:44 pm
I think that I got it working by following the tutorial at http://www.instructables.com/id/how-to-Control-arduino-by-bluetooth-from-PC-pock/ If you're using an Android phone or tablet, avoid ArduinoCommander. It doesn't work. How do I use microController BT?
162  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Automating Robot Arm on: October 09, 2012, 03:36:17 pm
There are two versions of OWI Robotic Arms. The old one has dark tinted clear plastic parts. The new one has black and yellow plastic parts. I don't think that they can be automated because they are "toys". They have clutches to protect the motors and even if you use optical sensors for feedback, the motors may continue to run after the joints hit the limits.

I tried to follow that website but I don't have a Nerf gun and a NeuroSky MindSet. I want to have Arduino with Bluetooth and PC "communicating" with each other using terminal programs much like the Loop-Back Test. How do I find my PC's MAC address?
164  Using Arduino / Networking, Protocols, and Devices / Re: How to get Bluetooth module working with Arduino UNO? on: October 08, 2012, 08:16:59 pm
I need step-by-step instructions on getting Bluetooth module to work with Arduino UNO and communicate with a PC. Do I need a RS232 to TTL converter? I found an article in Volume 28 of MAKE magazine on a project that uses Arduino UNO and Bluetooth module to fire a Nerf gun using your mind. http://hex-machina.com/hw/mindbullets

How can I do a loop-back test between Arduino UNO with Bluetooth module and a PC running a terminal program? For example, I type "A" and I should get "A". Which terminal program should I get? I tried to type $$$ and nothing happened.
