You will need to find out what pins other than the ICSP header are used, find the esplora free pins on 21st digital home, remap pins if the "official" pins are not available then change the code to point to the new pins.

Trinket can control two servos easily.  There is a small bot on learn.adafruit.com with two servos and there have been posts of other small Trinket bots.

Trinket can do 3 PWM (two using analogWrite, one more using a couple of tiny (no pun intended) routines on the learn.adafruit.com site under analog meter clock).

Softwareserial does not bloat the code too much - I have had many Trinket projects fit the functionality plus softwareserial (or Nick's SendOnlySoftwareSerial) in the available code space.
4  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Trinket + SoftwareSerial + Bluetooth = CODE TOO BIG on: April 10, 2014, 10:49:03 am
The new Adafruit bluetooth module does not take up any additional code.  The software serial library or Nick Gammon's excellent SendOnlySoftwareSerial does not bloat the code unless your user code is huge.
5  Products / Arduino Esplora / Re: Interfacing an Esplora to an Xbee on: March 20, 2014, 05:15:58 pm
Ok, you have an xbee powered by 3.3 volts.  What pins on Esplora do you have the TX and RX connected?  Remember TX on one goes to RX of the other.  You can use SoftwareSerial to use any two pins, again cross connect.

Esplora support is really bad.  For the longest time I was the only one trying to answer things.  Now I'm working with Adafruit Trinket.  My poor Esplora sits in a bin.

Make sure in Programmer -> Tools you have the first one checked.  Make sure you have a good USB cable.
8  Products / Arduino Esplora / Re: Esplora: how could I program the slider switch to give Dpad 4 more functions? on: December 31, 2013, 07:46:21 pm
maybe define

const char keystrokes[2][] = {
  KEY_UP_ARROW,
  KEY_UP_ARROW,
  KEY_DOWN_ARROW,
  KEY_DOWN_ARROW,
  '1',
  '2',
  '3',
  '4',
 KEY_UP_ARROW,
  KEY_UP_ARROW,
  KEY_DOWN_ARROW,
  KEY_DOWN_ARROW,
  '5',
  '6',
  '7',
  '8'
};

and change line  byte mode2 = map(slider, 0, 1023, 0, 13); to  mode2 = map(slider, 0, 1023, 0, 1); (declare at top of loop byte mode2=0;)

then

      if (newState == PRESSED) {
        Keyboard.press(keystrokes[mode2][thisButton]);
      }
      else if (newState == RELEASED) {
        Keyboard.release(keystrokes[mode2][thisButton]);
      }
    }

Maybe try to check serial available before every read as if you read without data available I'm not sure what that does.

In my experience, I was only sending from the Esplora to an Uno, the Uno wasn't sending info back but there was nothing in the project that prevented doing that.  RX and TX can be on the Tinkerkit outputs (which can be set as inputs) - hey, that's a thought - try PinMode settings for the two Tinkerkits, one for output, one for input (for xbee transmit and receive).
11  Development / Suggestions for the Arduino Project / Re: Galileo Forum on: December 20, 2013, 07:27:00 pm
They have.  But there will be many questions here, they should all be in one place or we'll have them scattered throughout the board.
12  Development / Suggestions for the Arduino Project / Galileo Forum on: December 20, 2013, 12:12:43 pm
As the Galileo rolls out this week and next, it would be very helpful to have a dedicated forum (as has been done for Due and Yun).

Thank you for your consideration.
13  Using Arduino / Microcontrollers / Re: Adafruit Trinket ATtiny85 dropping Linux Support on: December 11, 2013, 09:53:58 pm
Adafruit now officially states that there may be issues with timing in some Linux USB stacks.  Some report it works, others no.  So windows and Mac are still on their supported list.
14  Using Arduino / Microcontrollers / Adafruit Trinket ATtiny85 dropping Linux Support on: December 08, 2013, 06:34:39 pm
http://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=45366

Adafruit has had a large number of Linux users having problems with the Arduino IDE AVRdude implementation.  So they are preparing to state they will not support their ATtiny85 implementation, Trinket, on Linux.

Any ideas why a patched Arduino 1.05 (to handle the ATtiny85) would have so many issues on one OS?  I really don't blame Adafruit, it would just be best if there could be some glitch found that is fixable without too much hassle.

For more info on their product, here is their intro tutorial with alot of info (including schematics, link to sources, etc.)

Yes you can:

For the orange Tinketkit outputs: http://21stdigitalhome.blogspot.com/2012/12/esplora-expansion-header-pinouts.html
