they explode due to too much voltage being applied (25v on a 9v source is fine) or having its polarity switched

random safety thought, they do make non polarised electrolytic caps

ie http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=P1159-ND

+ without a resistor the cap will discharge silly quick, thus loosing the ohh feature

charge a large cap with the battery disconnect it then hook it up to a lamp

electroplating  (which can be done in a jelly jar and a dc supply)

those are fine looking rc's but yea I would go with the dual first as they are reportedly much easier to get the basics down with

Now to save up a couple hundred $ to get a real RC helicopter.

I used to race RC cars, still have a screamer of a electric model (got rid of the gas ones when I moved out of the parents house 10+ years ago) and I know how much 1 little slipup can cost on those

a plane or a helicopter on the other hand, yea takes some guts

Ive had 7 for about a month now on my "main" pc, never had a issue with its network

my pos netgear wifi router on the other hand ... so yes good luck on your idea

to completley sidetrack the shelving discussion (my mom has one of those chrome freestanding racks in her greenhouse for 5 years now) I would like to talk about my newest addition!

a el cheapo usb kvm switch! yay!

as I work on PC's as a side job it got quite irritating to get on my knees and reach around the back of the pc and fiddle with cables plus my usb keyboard / mouse barley had enough reach in the cords to make it onto the desk

so now I just push a button and usb keyboard, mouse and vga gets flipped, along with a third usb device (memory stick for instance), and i have plenty of cord length, and can use my 2 front usb ports again

silly how something stupid can make ya happy

True but I am trying to be environmentally friendly and not throwing it out because it still works.

yea, when I replaced mine I almost tossed it in the dumpster, it still worked (but fuzzy) but I took it to the thrift store, where they laughed at me so when they went back inside I tossed it in their dumpster

got my little 15 inch lcd for 25 bucks off of ebay, its ugly, has holes drilled in the base and over all a POS, but its fine for the workbench

that clamp thing seems interesting, maybe we will bug you to demonstrate it one day
