Plus I know a lot of people who "hate" cookies.

They just can't stand websites that drop cookies, and many people choose to block any cookies at all.

Just looking at the page information, I see that arduino.cc is currently storing 9 cookies on my computer (which I hadn't noticed).  A few of them are for remember passwords, etc. but I'm all for not adding more smiley-razz.

It's an anti-spam technique.

You'd be surprised (or maybe you wouldn't) how often people come to this forum and spam links to fraudulent credit cards, virus-filled websites, etc.

The 1st post rule is a small one that helps reduce that spam a little.

Hmm that could be nice.  Maybe then Gmail will stop stacking multiple threads' topic replies into one conversation, making me not notice them ;D.

Yup.  You just have to host it somewhere.  http://imageshack.us is good if you don't want to have to sign up.

22  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Forum / New Subforum: Buying / Selling on: January 01, 2010, 01:06:28 am
A user posted this a while back (before this suggestion forum existed), so I thought I'd repost here because I think it's a great idea.  The user suggested that a new subforum be added for people who want to buy electronic parts / boards, etc. or are trying to sell electronics.  I'll quote what the user originally said:

I feel that there is a vibe going round about people wanting some new sub-categories in the forum and I thought that people could post them here...

I think that there should be a sales/wanted sub-category because of the amount of people who are making boards and other products which then get stuck in news/development/bar sport etc depending on what they are feeling like!

Some people have also commented on possible sub categories for other things...

;D

I'm sorry, but if you were to want a thread, wouldn't the Hardware Development Forum  be an ideal place?  Are you not using the schematics to develop hardware? smiley-razz

I'm just saying that you could start a thread for now, and maybe if it's a big enough thing, a forum could be made?

Why don't you just start a thread or something called "Post your schematics" or "Schematic Help Thread"?  You can let people post their schematics and ask questions, etc. smiley

Seems like those can easily go into the Hardware development forum without much trouble...I could be wrong though.

It would be a bit frustrating if English wasn't my own language.  I don't know how feasible it is to add all those subforums to each language forum though..

I have nothing against the current layout (well, it's a little drab), but then again, my monitor is a fairly new LCD, so others may have problems.

I've never had any problems with the Playground's contrast either (which others do have problems with).

So far, for me at least, this seems to be a huge improvement!
