Can the email notifications include the post of what was posted in a thread you are watching?

I get this from other forums and it really helps so that I don't have to open the link to see the post while on my blackberry, I can get right was I am reading the notification.

2  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Troubleshooting / Did the size of the download grow? on: February 02, 2010, 08:50:25 pm
I got another laptop to work on my Arduino files exclusively and I needed to download the application again.

I had 0017 and downloaded 0018 instead.

The file size was 87MB and the total files were 5,527 items to extract from the zip file.
Is this correct?

Seems like a lot of files compared to the other version I downloaded in November.

Or maybe I fell alseep while it was extracting before?  ;D
3  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Troubleshooting / Re: Problem with pin 13 on: January 18, 2010, 12:35:18 am
Just a quick question:

I am also going to putting together a reef controller.

Is the temp sensor submerged directly in the water or is encased in something first?

I see a lot of programming and projects but no pictures or discussion of how the water temp is obtained.

Thanks

Who are you using to make the boards and what is the price break?  I am looking to finally start a fairly large project and will need quite a few of these.

From your site:

Dallas Semiconductor DS18B20 1-wire digital thermometer used for measuring the temperature of the aquarium water.

Can you post pictures of your sensor connections and wiring diagram for the sensos?  I am also looking to get the temperature and pH from my tank and could use the help.

Thanks

The shipping is something that I am still a bit fuzzy on.  I see my order has been placed but the shipping has not been added in yet.

I will let you know as soon as I get the bill.

The only thing they were missing is the LF356 and the 220 nf capacitors.

The total order came to $26.10.

Now to order the blank shield boards from Adafruit. ;D

On the very up side, I got my Tellymate shield in the mail today!!!  ;D

Thanks.

Ordering some parts now.
12  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Frequently-Asked Questions / Re: Where to get components? on: January 25, 2010, 11:23:45 am
Yeah, I thought about it and figured I would research each of the parts I was not sure of.

What stumped me was that one of the parts I needed was this an electrolytic capacitor 10uf 16v or 25v.  I could not locate this on the allied site but did find this part:

CAPACITOR, AL ELECTROLYTIC; 10 uF; 0 TO 25 WVDC; -75%, -10% AND 50%, -10%; BB

Link:
http://www.alliedelec.com/search/productdetail.aspx?SKU=5071057

Not knowing if this will work or not is the problem.

Since I am in no rush to get this up and running (I am waiting on a few other shields and parts) I will orde what I can understand and ask about what I don't (After searching of course).

13  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Frequently-Asked Questions / Re: Where to get components? on: January 25, 2010, 10:28:17 am
Allied seems to have most of what I need in stock.

However after going over the parts and all of the different options, I am thinking I may need to get a better understanding of electronics before tackling this part of my project.

Is there a good source or book any one would recommend to get started?
14  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Frequently-Asked Questions / Re: Where to get components? on: January 24, 2010, 11:22:00 pm
I tried them first.  Almost made my head explode  :o with all of the options that came up for a simple .25 part.

I looked at Jameco and they seem a bit easier to navigate through but I wanted to feed back before I sent an order over to any online source.  The locak 'Shack has nothing in the way of parts. :-/

Any oher advice or do I just take a few Advil and give Digikey a shot?
