Well, I completely agree with you, Grumpy_Mike. Kids like me are just believing everything what teachers say. This year, one teacher was explaining dreams to us (I know much about lucid dreaming, dreams and their associated psychology) and he was talking about the 'rolling eye momevent', that 'recurs every other hour'. It's the rapid eye movement which recurs every 1.5 hours. Everybody, except for me believed this (I generally don't open my mouth during that certain teacher' lesson, he doesn't like me that much). Since then, I've been a lot more critical about what they tell us at school. I mean, how do we know it's all true?

I've once heard, that, during WOII, teachers at German colleges would show their students skulls, and 'scientically' proved that one of them, of which they said it was from a Jew, was less developed. All of the students believed this.

I'm thinking about going to CCC this year. This will be my first real touch with the hacker community as I'm not a member of a hackerspace nor have I gone to a convention before (I'm only 15 years). Can anyone tell me what it is like? What kind of talks and workshops (I'm interested in web developement, web security, general security, and, of course, electronics (actually I'm interested in pretty much everything))? And how expensive is it?

So cute!  smiley-kitty
Reminds me of how we used to incubate eggs under hot lamps with easter.

Or datasheets diverting you to some alldatasheet or something rubbish that doesn't actually have what you're looking for - it just says it does and diverts you to some search that's pretty much irrelevant.
1) Lets say you're looking for a 555 timer datasheet.
2a) Long way: google "555 datasheet"
2b) Simple way: google "555 datasheet filetype:pdf"
3) ????
4) PROFIT!

I'd call it a traffic light...

I put in an order last week for some more electronics that I forgot in my previous order, and to test what is supposed to be a great electronics webstore in the Netherlands. (They are cheap, that's a fact!)
Order was put in on thursday night, processed over the weekend and on sunday night the status changed to order sent. Weird, since the postal service doesn't pick stuff up on sunday.
But up untill now I didn't receive anything, and I need some of the stuff to finish my ledcude smiley-sad
What's the name of that webshop?

Portal
So much fun!

But then I found out that Portal 1 is included with Portal 2.  Poop.

Oh well.  I'm going to buy portal 2 anyway.
Sorry for the randomness, but congratulations, you have reached 666 posts.

I just ordered a bunch of components to populate the bare serial arduinos I purchased at mouser.
No plans on what to do with them yet.
Really good prices at dipmicro.com, prices drop even more so with small quantity increases, like from 1 to 4 or to 10.
Yeah, and the protoyping PCBs seem nice too.

You will have to add the contuous servo part yourself, as I said, I've never worked with one. Also, be aware that the 'rotate servo 90°' part will do that only once, I programmed it as you asked. However, in the video, it seems like it does that multiple times. This code should do like in the video:

Code:
#include <Servo.h>
Servo servo_normal;

int PIR_pin = 1; // port of the PIR
int pot_pin = 1; // port of the potentiometer
int LED_pin = 1; // port of the LED
int servo_normal_pin = 1; // port of the normal servo
int servo_cont_pin = 1; // port of the continious servo
int pot_value = 0;
int servo_value = LOW;
int servo_normal_value = 0;

void setup() {
  servo_normal.write(0);
  pinMode(PIR_pin, INPUT);
  pinMode(pot_pin, INPUT);
  pinMode(LED_pin, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(servo_normal_pin, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(servo_cont_pin, OUTPUT);

}

void loop() {
  servo_value = digitalRead(PIR_pin);
  if(servo_value = HIGH){
    // motion detected
    for( int loopvar; loopvar < 10; loopvar++){
      if(servo_normal_value == 0 || servo_normal_value == 90){
        servo_normal_value += 90;
      } else{
        servo_normal_value = 0;
      }
      servo_normal.write(servo_normal_value);
      delay(250);
    }
    digitalWrite(LED_pin, HIGH);
    delay(10000);
    digitalWrite(LED_pin, LOW);

    pot_value = analogRead(pot_pin);
    // add the continuous servo part here
    delay(15000);
  } else{
    // this will execute when there is no motion detected
  }

}

I think some of them are mad that Arduino users aren't reading 300 page manuals every night like they are.
Well, I actually had read the full ASK manual even before buying my Arduino.

Do you still need it?

EDIT:
Here's a program to steer you in the right direction - I don't know how to drive a continuous servo:

Code:
#include <Servo.h>
Servo servo_normal;

int PIR_pin = 1; // port of the PIR
int pot_pin = 1; // port of the potentiometer
int LED_pin = 1; // port of the LED
int servo_normal_pin = 1; // port of the normal servo
int servo_cont_pin = 1; // port of the continious servo
int pot_value = 0;
int servo_value = LOW;
int servo_normal_value = 0;

void setup() {
  servo_normal.write(0);
  pinMode(PIR_pin, INPUT);
  pinMode(pot_pin, INPUT);
  pinMode(LED_pin, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(servo_normal_pin, OUTPUT);
  pinMode(servo_cont_pin, OUTPUT);

}

void loop() {
  servo_value = digitalRead(PIR_pin);
  if(servo_value = HIGH){
    // motion detected
    if(servo_normal_value == 0 || servo_normal_value == 90){
      servo_normal_value += 90;
    } else{
      servo_normal_value = 0;
    }
    servo_normal.write(servo_normal_value);
    digitalWrite(LED_pin, HIGH);
    delay(10000);
    digitalWrite(LED_pin, LOW);

    pot_value = analogRead(pot_pin);
    // add the continuous servo part here
    delay(15000);
  } else{
    // this will execute when there is no motion detected
  }

}

I'm sorry to say this, but the descriptions for the subforums look so unprofessional - please add capital letters.

Awesome project!
I noticed a typo in the (beautifull) video, 'a*n* unique sound'.

I see. Anyone else getting spam mails from 'cool components'?
You sure you're getting spam from them?
It is a UK based electronics store and as far as I know, relatively well regarded.

I'd just go and send them an email if you are getting unwanted emails.
I'm sure I have never given my e-mail adress (at least not my primary one) to some kind of electronics company. The only way it could be linked with electronics is the Arduino forum (it was publically viewable).
