Ok I know why I have a problem with my servo. My servo has a continuous rotation.  So it is difficult to know exactly  where is the servo after few moments.

This code is more "advanced" than the one used in the video. Basically every time the sonar servo completes a sweep, the angle for the direction with the maximum distance is determined, and the robot tries to turn in that direction. The direction with the minimum distance is also determined, and the rover tries to turn away from that direction.

How do you do to synchronize the servo of your sensor ? After few seconds, the angle of mine is not respected... It starts to go more on the right a little bit and it difficult to calibrate it. After three minutes, it is not anymore in the good direction.

what is the type of servo motor ? Do you have the schema of your circuit ? What is the goal of the capacitor ?

Lets see if i can help you...

The sensor is an ultrasonic sensor. It provides the robot a range sensing and gives a higher input the farer away the detected oblect is.

The servos seems to be of standard size, where the two driving servos have been modified to be continous driving. An unmodified servo is restricted to about 180 degrees movement and can be positioned in a specific degree.

What else do you need to know?
It should be ok. I will try to do that and I will post the result later.

Could you give more information about the servors and the sensor that you use for your robot ?

Well done! You might want to work a bit more on the mechanical side but as long as it does the job... I like your documentation on the website as well. So what's next? Your homepage says xbee (RF?) and bluetooth communication, why both? What are your plans with it? It'll be nice to control it through a web interface and get feedback from that wireless camera you have installed!

Regards,

Till

ps: your molecubes project reminds me of this post I read today http://blog.makezine.com/archive/2008/04/shapeshifting_robots.html

The mechanical need to be improved for sure, but it is much better than at the beginning... The difficult part was to fixe the wheels with the hubs on the servos.

For the communication, I want try xbee and bluetooth to learn how to use them (but this will depend of my budget). For sure, It could be nice to control the robot from the web with the camera but september the project will still like this.

Do you have any experience with bluetooth or xbee? Which one do you prefer?

have you tried the Servo library?

No,  I did not try... In fact, I have to two types of servos, those (gws06) for the wheels with a continue rotation (360) and one (futaba 3003) for the turret with a limitation of (120). So I wanted to control them directly and learn how to do that.

Did you tried the servo library ? Do you know the difference with my code ? I think, it should be close because there is not so much code to control a servo.

I change the version of the controller of my robot. You can find a video here:

I also add the code source on the webpage of the project with a photo gallery. I tried to give all the necessary documentation:

The rover with a mini wireless camera in front.

I have some new results on my robot... I tried to improve the controller and have more solid structure.

Fascinating.  It's a very versatile design you made; cool!

Thank you. I installed recently a camera on it. I will make a video soon.

I still have some problems to resolve...
