481  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Is the difference between mega and uno on: February 26, 2014, 04:04:10 pm
What Sensor?, Where is the diagram?, Where is the Code?
482  Using Arduino / Microcontrollers / Re: [ATTINY85]Nothing but junk appears on my serial monitor... :( on: February 26, 2014, 03:50:48 pm
I use Tiny85s on a regular basis and Calibrate them all (it only takes a few seconds) - without it, Serial will fail on around 3% of them (Don't know why - even from the same batch).

You need to supply a LOT more information.

What have you got.had hooked upto the arduino and how
What were you doing before it stopped working
What sketch have you uploaded to it
What happens when you follow the troubleshooting guide posted at the top of the forum?
Is it a 'real' arduino or a cheap clone/copy?

You need to 'Tune' the internal Osc. - if you do a search for 'tune attiny internal oscillator' there are plenty of guides.

Yes, What ever language you feel comfortable programming in , Yes.
486  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Handling VGA signals, send a piece of it to a matrix of LEDs, make this modular on: February 25, 2014, 08:53:28 am
Look at the bandwidth needed to do this and then the available input bandwidth of an arduino. . .

Search Google for 555 timer examples - there are thousands, also search for 555 timer calculator, this will help choose the value of support components needed.

ebay, maplins, rs-components, Just search where you are.
489  Using Arduino / Motors, Mechanics, and Power / Re: Servo giving out upon lifting weight? on: February 24, 2014, 05:32:14 pm
You are stalling the motor, replace it with a higher torque one.
490  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Thinking about getting a Arduino Uno R3 on: February 24, 2014, 05:16:59 pm
Yes, but so can a 555 timer, a few resistors and a couple of caps driving a transistor.
491  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Arduino and Linear Actuators on: February 24, 2014, 05:15:49 pm
How long have you got to do this project?
492  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Camera remote trigger - Arduino? on: February 24, 2014, 03:37:28 pm
Cool, Glad you got it working.
493  Using Arduino / LEDs and Multiplexing / Re: how to control 30 relays with arduino uno having only few output pins available on: February 24, 2014, 04:24:06 am
Or a few shift register chips (74hc595) or similar if more current needed to drive the coils, only 3 wires from the arduino needed, and cheap as well (a 74hc595 is around 20p/30c of you buy them in 10s)
494  Using Arduino / Installation & Troubleshooting / Re: Windows equivalent of Linux startup shell script? on: February 23, 2014, 01:45:25 pm
Why not just download the windows version?
495  Using Arduino / Programming Questions / Re: Problem with LCD on: February 23, 2014, 11:18:27 am
Yes, I can't make anything out - when I use white wire to rig something up, I mark each end with black and red bands made with a marker - each one different. The V0 pin also needs 4.2 Volts to operate (see datasheet)
