1  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / USB to PS2 with arduino leonardo on: August 16, 2013, 06:55:39 am
Hello,

I need advice if such project is doable.

I need converter from modern USB keyboard to old PS2 as some old computers does not support USB
and modern USB keyboard does not work with simple converters (already tested).

So I see a need for "advanced active"  USB keyboards to PS2 converter.

As mentioned before i am not an author of this code and i assume this it works,
and problem in my setup is more general.

but can't find where, and i am stuck with this.

More general meaning of debug/troubleshoot
as i am using example code included with library

[edit] as attachement

I assume it is correct and problem is with wiring or quality of wiring etc

4  Using Arduino / Networking, Protocols, and Devices / RFM12b + Leonardo not working on: January 14, 2013, 06:53:00 am
Hello All,

I am trying to get up and running HOPE RFM12B modules 433MHz + Leonardo based on information on Jeelab page.

All seems to be connected as per schematic but so far no success.
Could you advice if this rough setup/wiring will be bad for SPI 2MHz clock? or problem could be somewhere else?

Here is my prototype picture i have such setup 2x and cant get working.
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4549826/rfm12b_leonardo.jpg

I tried RF12demo sketch and i set id 1 and 2 group 212 as per sketch and freq 433 but while doing broadcast test still no OK

could you advice how to debug it and how to make it running. i need to have it on Leonardo and i want to emulate HID keyboard.

Yes, I have already PM to Andy123 but he seems to be away.

may be some one has this files available. as i am able to solder but have no experience int eagle or similar.

i am open to suggestions. if other way will lead me to the same final result then i can do every thing as i am "designer and coder"  smiley-wink

but on the other hand i will be good to know for future how to use hardware counter as i understood from documentation i need to use T0 or T1 input  pin.

so it means that there is light in the tunnel.
i been looking on this, and it rang my bell, but i am not that good and experienced  in uP technical english.

that triggered me to ask for advice on this forum.

Thx Korman,

it explains, if I interpret this correctly, that ATmega168 will not make it "hardware way"  smiley-sad and as for software implementation count divider i can handle by myself, i think  :-/ .

Freq of pulses is between  0.01kHz to 50kHz and as explained in question i would like to trigger interrupt every n*Pulse

Hi All,
I have task to check time between external pulses.
i want to generate interrupt on every n*Puse (e.g. n can be 1 up to 20)
to make more time for computation.

I think i should use counter register and compare it to value if it matches then it should generate interrupt to trigger routine which  will handle time computation.

I am looking for advice if it is within capabilities of avr chip?
How many such external sources 168 can handle 1 maybe 2 or more?

Thax

I the mean time i managed to switch programmer to Serial mode and i have edited programmers.txt and via serial programmer works ok with IDE.
( myprogramer if working in HID mode can be found under avrdroper  not usb so if in IDE set myprogrammer.communication=avrdroper then IDE still searches on com-s and if set to .communication=usb then it cant find)

and i have also managed to get my protype duino working as well (hardware bug) ;-)

amd also i have found fuses values for arduino mini in boards.txt (future info for rookies as i am)

Arduino MINI fuses

low.fuse = 0xFF
high.fuse = 0xDD i changed it to DC for my project
ext.fuse = 0x00
unlock 0x3F
lock 0x0F

so Case closed.

I would do but my programmer dont talk to arduino IDE and my hand made settings does not work smiley-sad .
so far i managed to get working  SinaProg avrdude GUI

so here i get right output while sinaProg
*******************
avrdude -C avrdude.conf -c stk500v2 -P avrdoper -p m168 -q

avrdude: AVR device initialized and ready to accept instructions
avrdude: Device signature = 0x1e9406

avrdude: safemode: Fuses OK

avrdude done.  Thank you.

so any advice hot to set up arduino enviroment if not then only chance are fuse settings to manually program fuses.

Hi,

as i am rookie in avr. but love the idea of arduino. i have a quite basic question.
I managed to make my own layout of pcb witn avr 168  (tqfp 32) with 16MHz cristal all is based on Arduino MINI schematics.

and now is a time to program fuses and boot loader.
could some one advice what are correct setting for fuses as well as confirm that boot loader for ng is correct choice.

(i post fuse question as i manged to brick one of 168) i am usin avrdude to program chip.

thx in advance
