Yes, any ideas ??
I need to use Max and Arduino for a permanent exhibition.. And need to resolve this problem.

Thanks

2  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Interfacing / Port conflict with max/msp on: October 05, 2007, 02:29:08 am
Hello.

I am trying to communicate arduino with max/msp.
Just sending the pin number the message is sent from.

I am using the SimpleMessageSystem library.
I did it many times, but i don't know what happen now with the arduino diecimila.
When i launch max and set up the right port, arduino just quit and stop working....

So i quit max, re-plug my arduino and launch max but he same thing happen.
It's like there is a port conflict between both of them.

Any Idea, where does this can come from?

Thank you

Bonjour,

 http://www.labhitech.com/images/ND-6063.jpg

Gracias

yes It is a RS 485 .
Do i need a max485 to build a RS 485 shield ?
Do i need to build something like this described on this page
http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1245014666

many Thanks.

Hello,

I am trying to use a 8 output relay to control 8  Lights of 12 Volts each
here is the relay I am using http://www.labhitech.com/images/ND-6063.jpg

I need to send a signal to the RS 485 input of the relay, but i am not exactly sure how to send a signal from arduino to another device.
Any One ever used similar Device ?

Thanks and Regards,

Mateo

I added a 300 ohm resistance between the pin and the transistor. And it hasn't burnt yet!!  smiley-wink
Everything seems to be working properly!
Thank you for helping!

I know a bit more about electronics now!!

Thank you very much it's working !

Now I am just worried about burning my arduino...
I am using a transistor mofset IRF 540 . Do you think i need to add a resistance between the pin and the transistor?
Especially if i run 3 lights at the same time...
I don't really understand the transistor specifications.

Hello.
It's the first time i use Arduino to switch on something more powerful than a led!
Actually i am using the arduino diecimila and i want to be able to switch on and off 3 light bulbs.
As  this new board has only a 5v power output, i was wondering what i needed to add to my circuit in order to light this 12v bulb?

I don't know much about electronic, but can i find a component such as a resistor that can increase the voltage ? (Mof set?, relay?)
Or do i need to get the power from an adaptator that convert 220 v to 12 v and then use a resistance to low the voltage from 12 v to 5 v?
Is there any documentation or example about this?

Thank You.

Yes it sounds interesting,
But i don't have much time to look for those kind of sensors, also i am in Thailand now so it's a bit difficult...
Anyone would know a technique more simple?, us¡ng the same programation as a pushbuton?
