228  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / News / guide? on: November 02, 2007, 01:33:50 pm
yknow i think it would be more clear if the Guide section on the arduino site was renamed "Getting Started"
not sure how other people feel about this. The word "guide" just doesn't seem quite right.
most manuals have a "quick start" or "getting started" chapter in the beginning...

am i the only one who feels this way?

if you have a 811mj module (which was just superceded like 2 days ago by the 812, dammit!), you can use the schematic/layout for my ethernet shield v1.2

The squiggly shaped motor driver (which is referred to as the Arduino/Freeduino motor driver) doesnt have a dedicated power connection for a motor. You'll have to cut the 9V pin and one of the grounds at the bottom there and connect a wire from your seperate power supply. Otherwise you'd be powering the Arduino from that voltage.

The capacitor obviously fell off during transport between them and you.
It happens sometimes with postal delivery.

I have a customer who received an Arduino without capacitors also, and they were not in the bag. looking closely at the PCB you can see the the parts were never placed rather than broken off
