In circuit emulator & gcc do they work on avrduno? I see avr ice 's  at sparkfun is their a connector I need to solder or will the next version have it. Becouse of the tools do I have to use GCC to work with it or will the one you have work with a ice?
Also winavr & avrfreaks would proably help more if you had used gcc & winavr.

AVR freaks .net is a community of avr users. The gcc has a windows avr toolkit winavr. That can use a ice thats great for software debugging. Also a bootable linux cd like knoppix with all the avr stuff on board pop it in nothing to install would make use of stuff super easy.

OpenCircuits is for hardware development add avrduno its a wiki so people can add to it easly. Also if you want to keep some info safe keep it on the webpage when its good.  smiley-grin 8-) ;D here is the link http://opencircuits.com/Main_Page

5  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Development / interfaceing SPI a/d triggered simoltaneosly&USB on: June 05, 2006, 01:30:41 pm
I am makeing a opne source EEG the programmable chip eeg.
I would like simoultaneous A/D readings more than 8-10 so know any SPI chips that would work. Also spark fun has some excelent USB chips to replace the one your using.
Also sparkfun.com USB chip has general purpouse IO that can control the spi digitaly vareable resistors on my Programmable chip EEG.
If you would like to look into it ...

6  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Bugs & Suggestions / I like adruno but in needs 2 things to sell it on: December 03, 2006, 11:43:31 am
Well let me say I love the avr stamp idea I think the avr duno with the mega 8 could be sold with the larger chip that would be a interesting selling point.

Secondly being able to step through the code is important. The GCC has that option. Now since this chip is in the real world stepping through the code on the chip with hardware attached can help find bugs.

So their are 3 ideas I have how this could be implimented quickly and easly.
Make a JTAG debugger jack avalable for people to use the GCC compiler and in circuit emulator.

if someone has 2 avrduno can one be the emulator and monitor the others internal memory and breakpoints? This would also have to be added to the functionality of the High level language or people could use GCC.

 running a real time os for example if they booted their computer with DSL linux with a real time feature on it and had it act like a in circuit emulator to allow the AVR to step through the code and watch vareables change.

7  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Interfacing / SPI a/d I need many triggered at same time. on: June 05, 2006, 01:26:37 pm
I also could use some fast SPI A/d converters that could be triggered to take the samples at the same time. So then where the signal came from could be triangulated.

my open source project is the pceeg at http://pceeg.sourceforge.net
It would be nice to use a pre existing open source hardware micro then my programmable EEG might become a shield board or add on or visa versa. Basicly the popularity of both could be worked on for more users.  ;D smiley-grin :o

jatag connector for in circuit emulator is needed. also this for software debugging vereables and state.
9  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Interfacing / can the usb interface act like a jatag in circuit on: December 03, 2006, 11:54:24 am
can the usb interface act like a jatag in circuit emulator.

Being able to step through code and use GCC is the main reason I didn't buy avr duno yet.

If the io of the usb adapter could make it a  incircuit emulator it would be awsome.

I know their proably is hardware and software changes nessisary to do that.

If timming is a problem could a real time OS feature be added to DSL linux to get that problem fixed?
10  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Interfacing / sparkfun likes a different USB chip with GPIO on: June 05, 2006, 01:23:44 pm
This chip has a royalty free distrabution licence. General purpose IO for example it could control my boards SPI programmable resistors from the PC without using my microcontroler. 8-) :o smiley-razz
It also might be cheeper.
I also could use some fast SPI A/d converters that could be triggered to take the samples at the same time. So then where the signal came from could be triangulated.

Basic breakout board for the new Silicon Laboratories' CP2103 USB to Serial IC.  The CP2103 is superior to the FTDI chip in many ways:

    * Implements full v2.0 USB protocol
    * Needs no external crystal
    * Internal EEPROM for device ID and Product Description strings
    * 4 independently controllable GPIOs
