Great!  I've had an Ansi C class.

It's just weird to see there isn't a line in the sand between the command set for the IDE and the avr stuff.

Awesome!
Thanks!

So, I ran into someone asking about the strlen command...

How many commands are there that aren't listed on the main reference page?

http://arduino.cc/en/Reference/HomePage

Is there a full list?  Or am I asking the wrong question?  Is there a way for the normal C avr commands work in the arduino ide?  Am I making sense?
4  Forum 2005-2010 (read only) / Syntax & Programs / Other Serial.print special characters? on: December 31, 2010, 04:46:29 am
I noticed that serial.print has a special character for tabbing.

  Serial.println("\t");

Are there any others?  I thought it might be nice for making debug pretty.

I ran the alphabet and the complier accepted these

  Serial.println("\a");
  Serial.println("\b");
  Serial.println("\v");

I have no clue what it spits out.  The debug window gave me junk that's I can't get to show up in the fourm.

Is there a list? Is these a carriage return?  Others?

thanks in advance!

Nice - Just ordered one from Hong Kong - $3.24 shipped.

If you plan on using processing in your app, it can read the time from your system clock just FYI.

You know I just watched something the other day that caught my attention - they(Stanford University) claim that using a stationary GPS antenna and 4 GPS antennas mounted to a RC helicopter, they can get 1cm accuracy.

Here is a link:  Look for the clip called "roboflyers"

http://pbs-saf.onstreammedia.com/cgi-bin/visearch?user=pbs-saf&template=template.html&query=+ClipCategory%3Acomputers+ClipCategory%3Atechnology&category=ClipCategory%3Acomputers+ClipCategory%3Atechnology&viKeyword=&submit=Search&page=21

Hope that helps.

Thanks!  Someone said they were only made in QFN - I didn't bother to check.  TQFP is doable!

Thanks.

Is there a 8u2 compatible chip that I'll be able to make a arduino uno, preferably on a breadboard?  Soic?  Anything?

Why don't you do it here so we all can learn.   :smiley  Unless I'm missing the point of the forum.

Back to the original questions please.

Funny.  No, I'm not looking to drop a amtmega chip in to replace my anti-lock breaks uC.  That's silly.  Come one now!  LOL.

I already have the power supply covered.

I was thinking more in terms of heat, and vibration.

Atmel *does* offer a line of automotive grade chips, so I think my question is not out of line at all.  Unless you have some insight?
