This threads got me waxing about multimeters I have known!

When I worked at Allied Radio in the '60's that Simpson 260 was the hottest selling meter we had.

Later in the military, we used the PSM-6 . . .

(It wasn't quite that big, but it was heaver!)

It's worth looking at BatchPCB for prototype quantities.

When you only need a few boards, just to prove the design, they might be cheapest. (Sometimes they throw in a free board.  :-X)

Just another option, if you weren't aware of them.

Just because there are a few examples of silent "L" doesn't mean ALL of them are...
I coudn't - I mean, I couldn't agree with you more.  smiley

Here's a nice little article about the silent "L" that mentions solder  specifically, and the history behind how the "L" became silent (for some).

So some kid goes screaming through our quiet little town and now we talk about making rules.

The rules will be generated based on the most  vocal pet peeves that some have. A list will be compiled that will never go anywhere because there is no one to coordinate it, implement it, and enforce it.

Should the rules somehow be implemented, the result will be rules that are never read by people who occasionally come screaming through our quiet little town.

We also spent 5 months in Ivrea in 85-86, with me working for Olivetti. (We actually lived in Vistrorio - a small town in the mountains near there.)
