everything is cleaned up and its not too embarrassing
I would like to start a campaign on these forums for people to start releasing code when it's still at the "embarassing" stage. The number of times a thread ends with a post saying "I'll release it when it's tidied/not embarrassing/perfect" and no further code seems disturbingly high.

Embrace your code's imperfections in the face of its utility, release now!

In a month's time untidy, embarrassing code is still going to be a lot more useful to others than no code--it also probably won't impact your future employment/dating opportunities too much. :-)
I agree!  I think few of us are real professionals here and we're all here to learn, even a brain dump of imperfect information thrown back into the cloud is better than nothing at all, and we can all benefit from dissecting and optimizing what you've got so far.  smiley

I discovered a couple of months ago that ELM Electronics has a single-chip LANC solution with a serial interface. It's not cheap ($15+, as I recall) but will be much easier to implement, given the lack of a real LANC library for the Arduino.

Thats called a mailing list, not a forum.
And they already have one. smiley-wink
I know, I'm so old fashioned. smiley  I really loathe web-based forums.  There *are* some two-way email/forum gateways, probably available as plugins rather than in core code, but I'm pretty sure phpBB has something like that.

Where's this Arduino mailing list?

PS: you can instruct the forum to email you every time something gets added to a forum or topic
I can't even tell you how many times I looked for that stupid little button.  Of course it's right there...

If we're talking about migrating, how about a forum that allows two-way email, instead of just web-based forums? smiley

Is there a way to subscribe to a forum, such that I'll receive a daily email of all threads that have been updated or created?  This forum software seems to be a little bit crippled...  smiley-sad
