1  Using Arduino / Displays / Re: 16x2 LCD displays junk charac and no refresh after 230V relay operation on: May 22, 2014, 06:01:08 am
Code:
lcd.begin(16, 2);  // init display
lcd.clear();       // clear display and set cursor in upper left corner
now re-write your data to the display to see it.

In one of my home projects the display regularly gets corrupted and every minute I run the above lines of code to restore the display.

I sent you a private message, please check.

I'm using the same sketch as the one you listed,  but I am using IDE 1.0.5.
I don't know anymore why but to get it work I had to make a separate IDE version 1.0.5 with only the SdFat and UFTF_MEGA libraries; I only use this IDE to import images to flash and nothing else.

If the upload goes OK, the image that you upload to flash should be displayed after the upload to flash is finished.
Do you see that image  or anything else ?
Could you post a picture of what you see on the  screen ?

You will need patience, it took me  3 days to find out how it works.

I have the coldtears 4" and 7" displays working with custom icons stored in flash.
Can you post a screendump of what you see?
Which IDE version are you using , which UFTF version.
Did you already try to upload custom icons/fonts/.... or not  (just to know if the display FLASH still has its factory icons/fonts)?
5  Using Arduino / Motors, Mechanics, and Power / Re: Read 220v relay status (in order to know if someone switched on the light) on: March 27, 2014, 02:30:27 pm
Have you checked if the latching relays are dual pole ?
I have those in my place and use the second pole to read the contact status with a 5V signal.
6  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: Simple question on if else statement on: March 25, 2014, 06:32:47 am
if (i = 'm')  will give the value m to i, it will not compare i with m.

Comparison Operator

 x == y (x is equal to y)

else if (i == 'm')
7  Using Arduino / General Electronics / Re: Relay Board on eBay with 8 Relays on: March 21, 2014, 04:35:47 pm
The board I use does not have optocouplers, only transistors to keep the arduino output current low.
Optocouplers were not required for my application

I use this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=310735757385 one with a MEGA and it works fine
9  Using Arduino / Displays / Re: CTE35 was not declared in this typel on: March 20, 2014, 02:37:43 am
I'm surprised to see different results. It's mac versus linux and IDE 1.0.5 versus IDE 1.0.1.
Don't know if there's much more we can do for the moment to help the  OP.
10  Using Arduino / Displays / Re: CTE35 was not declared in this typel on: March 19, 2014, 04:55:02 pm
Can you confirm that you own the display and that the sketch not only compiles without errors but that the display also works?
I don't have that display, I have 2 other that work well with UTFT.
11  Using Arduino / Displays / Re: CTE35 was not declared in this typel on: March 19, 2014, 03:23:36 pm
OK, it compiles without errors on my mac.
What I did is :
- I downloaded the sketch at the Japanese link mentioned above
- I downloded the UTFT library at the same Japanese link
- I downloaded IDE 1.0.5
- I installed the downloaded UTFT library
- I opened the sketch downloaded at the Japanese link with IDE 1.0.5
The sketch compiles without error without any further editing.

NOTE: I have many other versions of  the IDE on my mac with the UTFT library downloaded, directly from http://www.henningkarlsen.com/electronics/library.php?id=51
When compiling with these versions, I get the same error as you.

My advice is to make sure you use IDE 1.0.5 and the sketch and library from the Japanese site.
Reinstall the IDE and library and try again, it should work.

The screendump below is in Dutch but it says compiling has completed without errors.

Tonight I will download the sketch and the library from the links on the page where you bought the LCD and I will try to compile it.

can you see the UTFT library examples in the IDE, this would confirm that you installed the libraries correctly.

Did you download and install the UTFT library ?
15  Products / Arduino Due / Re: Easytranfer between Due and Mega PROBLEM SOLVED !!! on: March 02, 2014, 05:17:49 pm
Ahh,just remembered i posted this a bit back, this should clear it up. The library doesn't work as it is it need editing. Here is my post on it from last year. hope it works for you. I'm using version 1.7

http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=144679.msg1086585#msg1086585
It works !!!
Thanks for sorting this out, this will make a huge speed difference for my project as I will be able to use the DUE for my TFT.
I can now use EASYTRANSFER between the MEGA and the DUE in both directions (only with floats but I can live with that)
THIS IS GREAT !!!
Thank you so much.
