Hi Frank

are you trying to connect your Yun to your wifi network?
Are you able to connect to its webinterface?

Hi

in your config:

Quote
config wifi-iface
   option device 'radio0'
   option network 'lan'
   option mode 'ap'
   option encryption 'none'
   option ssid 'Arduino Yun-90A2DAF202C1'

this is the default configuration for Arduino (AP = access point mode)...
It seems Yun doesn't save your configuration?  smiley-eek-blue

Try this:
- connect Yun to your network using a cable
- configure the WIFI connection using the web interface and let Yun reboot at the end, keep the cable connected
- connect to Yun via SSH (after the reboot) and check the content of the configuration file

what is very strange in your dmesg is that it's missing the wlan0 part... for example from my Yun:

Code:
[   51.690000] cfg80211: Calling CRDA for country: IT
[   51.690000] cfg80211: Regulatory domain changed to country: IT

Try enter the following command in SSH: cat /etc/config/wireless
You should read the configuration of your wireless network (ssid, key...)... let us know!

it seems the Yun can't connect to your wifi... which kind of security are you using? WPA?
65  Products / Arduino Yún / Re: modify files on SD card of yun on: November 12, 2013, 09:24:22 am
port 22
username root
password: the one you chose in the Yun webinterface (default is "arduino")

Hi Franc

if your Yun is connected to the same network (wired or wireless) of your PC simply configure WinSCP with its IP address (you can get it from Arduino IDE) and choose SCP as protocol:

67  Products / Arduino Yún / Re: Wi-Fi won't transmit any data on Arduino Yun on: November 12, 2013, 04:26:56 am
well in the logs I can't see any messages about the connection to the wifi network... it seems that something went wrong with the configuration.

Now that you can access to the Yun's webinterface, could you check if you can configure the wifi connection (your SSID is shown in the combobox and so on...)?
68  Products / Arduino Yún / Re: Connect ip cam to Arduino Yun and watch live video from iPhone on: November 12, 2013, 04:24:44 am
Guys,

an IP Cam is a cam with an ethernet interface... so the setup using an USB webcam can't work.
My suggestion is to provide an external solution to "transform" the IP Cam in a wifi Cam, like the router I suggested before.

ok if you can connect via ssh to your Yun just enter the command "dmesg", it should output all the system logs, including something related to wifi.
You can also save it to file (dmesg >/tmp/dmesg.txt), download it using WinSCP and attach to this thread...

Hi Nico

I read some documentation from OpenWRT project... what you're looking for is something described here:
http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/clientmode

as you may read, it's not an "easy" setup...
71  Products / Arduino Yún / Re: Wi-Fi won't transmit any data on Arduino Yun on: November 11, 2013, 03:43:08 pm
Hi!

my suggestion was to try using  a "wired network" (if your router has some ethernet ports): i.e. connect the Yun to your router with an ethernet cable.

If you're on Windows, download the free PuTTY, it works fine as SSH client

Hi

I've just checked the WLAN led on my Yun and its behavior is what you described... the WLAN led is off but my Arduino is correctly connected to my wi-fi router.

Could you make a try with an ethernet cable to see if this works (and if so, you can connect to Linino with SSH and inspect the logs to find out what goes wrong with wifi association)?
73  Products / Arduino Yún / Re: Wi-Fi won't transmit any data on Arduino Yun on: November 11, 2013, 11:02:03 am
mmm that's very strange... the webinterface is reached through wifi (or ethernet) connection.. so it shouldn't be related with USB!

In your router's admin page, are you able to list the connected devices? It should show Arduino Yun and the assigned IP address...
Which is the status of the WLAN led when Arduino Yun is not connected to your PC using USB?

Hi zcapozzi,

are you able to ping the Arduino IP from a computer connected to the same wifi network? Can you connect to its web interface?
75  Products / Arduino Yún / Re: Connect ip cam to Arduino Yun and watch live video from iPhone on: November 11, 2013, 10:39:44 am
Hi Nico,

it could be possible, but why using a Yun for a similar application, where a simple router in "wifi client" mode works fine and it's cheaper? For example a TL-WR702N:
