1  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / Re: 5x5x5 Led Cude Powering Question on: August 21, 2012, 05:39:56 pm
Why 5ohms is too low,  if i had used a more ohms resistor the light would be even more low, correct?
2  Using Arduino / Project Guidance / 5x5x5 Led Cude Powering Question on: August 21, 2012, 05:32:14 pm
Hello im a programmer but new to electronics, so here is my question.

I have build a 5x5x5 led cube using 4x  74HC595 my problem is that when i turn on more than 10-20 leds at the same time the leds are not bright enough.
Im powering the led cube form arduino uno.
I have used 5 resistors total placed on the cathode of each layer. Each resistor is 5ohms.

If i have used 25 resistors one for each anode would the leds be brighter?
In confused please help.

Thanks in advance, Arkas

Has anyone made a quadcopter using the arduio lib?
I'm stuck with tuning the lib.

any help welcome.
4  Using Arduino / Motors, Mechanics, and Power / HDD Step Motor.. Please Help on: November 03, 2011, 04:25:50 pm
I have a stepper from a WD800BB hard drive which runs at 7.200 rpm.
My problem is that i use it with 9v which is enough i think, through a H-Bridge.. but i cant get it to get max speed... i think its cause i assuming the total steps, but i can't find anywhere the specs from that stepper.

Have anyone used a HDD stepper?? Any direction for the number of total steps....?

Forgot to say that i am using it with <Stepper.h>

Thanks,
5  Using Arduino / Programming Questions / Re: Pin Output Question on: October 28, 2011, 09:08:35 pm
I did it and i got stable readings from my multimeter but somehow something the way the volts come up is not linear.. sundely from 0 goes .5 then .6 then .7 there are not many steps...

any suggestions?

I want to control a Galvo from a hard drive, it gets as input a minimum amout of voltage.
i tryed it out with a 1.5 AA battery with a potencimeter and i could control it precisly.

I want contiunous range from 0 - 3.3 or 5v or even less.

Thanks

So how can i accomplish to have as an output a range from 0 - 5volts ?

What do i need to buy?

Thanks
9  Using Arduino / Programming Questions / Pin Output Question on: October 28, 2011, 06:49:17 pm
Sorry if this a stupid question but im new to all this.

I want to use a pin to output a voltage range from 0 - 3.3v or 5v

can i code it like this:

analogWrite(13, 200);

a snippet of code will be amazing...

Thanks,

Im trying to find a way to communicate arduino and nxt brick. Im searching the net but only bluetooth solutions available.. i want to do it with Serial ( with cable ).

Is that possible, have u heared that before?

Thanks,
11  Using Arduino / Sensors / IR Emmiter wirring on: October 26, 2011, 06:24:40 am
I just bought a IR emmiter and it looks like a LED, it has two pins, Longer and Shortest ( + , - )
My question is do i have to use a resistor or not. I have just one so i dont want to burn it...

Thanks,

Thanks
14  Using Arduino / Motors, Mechanics, and Power / Re: RC Speed Controller on: October 25, 2011, 05:51:27 am
does anyone have a snippet of code that can control a servo without the Servo Library?
15  Using Arduino / Motors, Mechanics, and Power / RC Speed Controller on: October 23, 2011, 07:21:36 pm
Hello,

I am new to Arduino. I have a Speed Control from RC car ( Himoto is the brand ) and i can not make it to engage, i mean to hear the 3-4 bips and then start using it.
Im trying to control it as a Servo motor, but no luck. With the same code i managed to use a servo btw.

Anyone can point me a solution... or a tutorial?

Thanks.
