1  Using Arduino / Displays / Help converting VFD driver on: April 19, 2012, 08:47:03 am
Hello,
I have 3 VFD displays that use the chip that Berg used in his one here http://www.mostafaberg.com/2011/07/reversing-the-vfd/ I was wondering if anyone had any idea about porting his code over to arduino?

Thank you,
Cybot.

on the newest boards (cant remember name the ones without the power jumper) there is a track near the usb port and it has 2 solder pads if you cut the track between these pads the board wont reset and you can solder it back together later

go to device manager and update the drivers for anything with a ! or a ?, then try again.

The most annoying part is gettign the code to work and be small enough to fit on the arduino.

Now that makes sence, Thanks for all your help!

works better but it isnt writing the value i give it, eg i think that when i send 450d it write 200 to pin 9...

I wanted a simple control of voltage over USB serial, where i type in a number in the serial moniter and it sets that number to the pin, but i know that the serial is sending the ascii numbers or something... anyway here's my code.

Quote

void setup(void) {
  // initialize inputs/outputs
  pinMode(8,OUTPUT);
  pinMode(9,OUTPUT);
  pinMode(10,OUTPUT);
  pinMode(11,OUTPUT);
  int val;
  digitalWrite(8,LOW);
  digitalWrite(10,LOW);

  // begin the serial communication
  Serial.begin(9600);
}

void loop()
{
  int val;
  val == 0;
  if (Serial.available()) {
   val = Serial.read();
    analogWrite(9, val);
    analogWrite(11, val);
    delay(200);}
   Serial.print(val);
}

Is there any way to get it so that i type 225 into a serial program and it sends that value to the board?
Thanks in advance, Cybot.

Try moving the files closer to C:\ drive and make sure app is running as admin, board is installed correctly and is right com port..

You could try getting a double pole 2~5 vole relay double contact and using that to reverse the voltage, could also try using different motors with the 3v rating... What rating are the motors hes using now?

I believe that vista a built in bluetooth connection wizard, try using that instead or download another program to connect the bluetooth.

Sounds good to me too!

This reminds me has anyone done this for a Fujitsu tablet pc?
thx in advance

what did you use to connect to the ipod did you use the one that comes with it when you buy it?

Does anyone know what codes the device actually sends to the ipod from the ipod radio receiver ? im looking at using my ipod with my large antenna and using the Arduino as an amp
