Thanks westfw for your reply... In fact I did that for test purpose but in the end I want the arduino to send and receive data to the Fonera.

So do you mean that it should work without doing anything? I used both "screen" on my Mac and the Arduino software but nothing happens...

I don't remember but I think I saw somewhere that to do that test you have to remove the chip. Is that right?

Hi There,

I connected a Fonera to my Arduino board through the serial COM port - RX/TX.

I connected the Arduino board to my computer -through USB. The problem is that I don't see any data from the Fonera displayed on the computer -  I tried with and serial.print.

Does anybody here have a bi-directional COM program to be able to send / receive data to the serial port?

Hi there,

I have connected my Arduino board to the GPRS Module and followed the tutorial. With AT commands sent through a terminal, it works fine, I can send commands and I get the answer in the terminal window...

What I can to do, with an Arduino program, is to send an AT command and wait for the expected answer. For instance if I send "AT", I want to wait for the "OK" reply.

I've tried to do it but it doesn't work ; the problem is that to make the Arduino board communicate to the GPRS Modem shield, a jumper is used ( thus making impossible to get traces on the computer...

Do you have any idea on:
- To implement such a command/answer function?
- How to get traces when the serial port is used for the modem? I really don't understand why I don't see the exchanges between the board and the GPRS module on the computer through the USB port...;

Yep! Too bad the Arduino is not Wifi !!

I also needed Wifi for my project so my solution was to find a cheap Fonera, reflash it with DD-WRT or Open WRT.

It's apparently possible to use it through the serial port; it didn't work for me so I've added to my Arduino the Ethernet board in order to use the Fonera through ethernet...

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the answer; I removed ITunes, empties trashed, did a reboot, repaire permissions and re-install ITunes and it still doesn't work!! Arrrrgghhh...  >smiley-sad
I should spend a day reinstalling the whole stuff!

OK thanks. Regarding ITunes uninstallation ; did you just put the app in the trash or did you do some "extended" cleaning? If so, which one? I'd like to keep my ITunes library...

In fact I bought my MacBook recently so it's the last OS. I've tried to reinstall ITunes but didn't work.. I should try again. Did u have the same pb? Did u solve it?

Thanks for the answer ; it happens both when the Arduino is plugged or not. I've removed the driver but it didn't solve the problem ; as if the "real" driver has been removed :-(

I've installed the Arduino SDK on my Mac and since then I cannot synchronize my iPhone with my Mac anymore. The pb doesn't come from the iPhone since I can still synchronize it on another PC and the problem appeared right after the installation.

Does anyone else have the same problem? Any clue?
