Just found you Bank project and looks like just what I need, so I will check it out. I do have a question, you have pull-ups on each EEPROM chip's SDA & SCL line. My understanding is it's one set of pull-ups on the SDA & SCL lines for the whole bus, but I'm new to all of this so I could be wrong  

If it's per chip that would be great info as I'm using 2 I2C chips now with only 1 set of pull-ups on the bus.

Do you know of a source in the US for these radio's? So far everything in mainly turning up forum links.

They will work together. I'm working on a home monitoring system that's connected to I2C (RTC & EEPROM), 1-Wire (Temp and A/D) and SPI (DOGM GLCD Display). I have the system working right now with a single 1-wire device, logging to the EEPROM and graphing to the GLCD.

The best approach I found is work on it as spate pieces. 1st get the 1-wire part working (this seems to be the most difficult one of the 3). Once you have that working, then add in the I2C then SPI. As I add each piece, I debug with info out the serial port to make sure everything is still working.

I'm working on a home environmental/energy monitoring system. I would like to monitor our 2 HVAC systems so I know when they are on, how long and what mode (heat or cool). My plan is to use mostly 1-wire network for data gathering. So that the HVAC  I figure it would be best to monitor the “Heat” or “Cool” control leads via opto-isolators. Then feed that into a 1-wire GPIO device. So my question is what opto-isolator would I use for this? I know about using them with a Triac to turn on 120v AV, but I need to monitor 24 AV instead. Any suggestions?

You may want to look into something like the Renard that's used for Xmas displays. I have 2 and they work great! Don't have all the dev time and there is PC software to control it.

The problem is the 1-wire chip you are referring to has been discontinued. I have the same setup and using interrupts for both the speed and rain and at higher speeds seeing some really odd high readings for wind speed and was wondering what was going on.

@Were - Do you by any chance have your code post anywhere so we can take a look?

Could you send me a copy of the schematics and code? I'm really interested in the code for loading and reading the eeprom for font data. I'm looking at making a sign, but the main part i'm hung up on is the way to take a message and lookup the font data in eeprom. Nice project!
