Rambling around the Internet trying to catch-up on my reading, I found myself on the Ops webpages:
http://www.pighixxx.com/myblog/

As of October 17, he was still alive and blogging.  However, his Ardutester page seems to be unedited for some time: http://www.pighixxx.com/tag/ardutester/

Early versions of the port seemed to work OK but the embellishments eventually caused the software which is available in the #1 post to be unstable - in my case, unusable.  I see that others have had similar "weird" results, too.

I am wondering if this is just one of those projects that comes out kickin' and screamin' but dies before it is finished?

Bonjour,

Hello,
Thank you for your work.
Some measurement errors were given to me.
I inserted a potentiometer between 5V and GND the midpoint connected to the AREF pin.

Is this a good or bad idea?

Thanking you in advance.

@Petruce,
I no longer have my tester on the solderless breadboard.  If I get some free time, I'll will try repeating your suggestion.
Thank you,

Ray

Is it perhaps not zeroing out the stray capacitance correctly?

Can anyone provide links for the latest schematic and firmware (sketch)?
It seems pighi's web site is  down for a long period of time and all the links are dead.

I gave up on the code because it had too many issues.  The older code worked OK but the rewrite did strange things, documented elsewhere.  Even when the site was up, only the most recent code was available.

From the code header:

Thanks

Gee, hard to say... Go to the oldest and try that, if it works OK, then move forward in time.  The damage I noticed showed up with diodes getting misclassified and even the anode/cathode getting swapped sometimes... Also, some weird menu problems but I cannot remember the specifics.

Hi everybody.

As i started looking into this, i found news which i feels deserve to be mentionned in this thread.

Actually the project from which pighixxx based his ArduTester is very up and alive.

It looks very well maintained by Karl-Heinz Kübbeler and other contributors at http://www.mikrocontroller.net/articles/AVR_Transistortester#Introduction_.28English.29 .

The SVN accessible there shows at least 2 current versions, with many screen options :)

As the project seems quite mature, i might assemble mine sooner or later. Big thanks to all contributors !
