Topic: Getting an IR receiver to work with Apple Remote (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

I'm trying to get a 38KHz IR receiver to read signals from an Apple Remote. Here's what I have so far:

- The IR receiver has three prongs. The Gnd prong goes to Ground, the Vcc one goes to 5V, and the Out one goes to pin 12.
- I tried using the code I found from three different posts about the topic but none of them seem to be working correctly. They can be found at http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1194553332 and http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1176098434

Whenever I run the code tho it just outputs zeroes to the Serial monitor. I've tried holding all sorts of buttons on the remote. Could my problem be with the remote? Or did I wire something incorrectly? I've tried using resistors in places but it doesn't change anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

I got it working using no resistors, now I just need to make sense of the numbers!
