What's the basic difference between Arduino ADK & Arduino Mega 2560 ?
I don't know much of the technicalities of both the boards....just that ADK is based on mega 2560.

I need the ultimate one time solution where I could use many kinds of actuators & sensors.

There is some mention about using Android in ADK or something like that. Please explain more about it.

Which board is the best board for using many Actuators & Sensors?

The ADK has a USB host interface to connect with Android based phones, based on the MAX3421e IC.

The standard Mega and Uno do not have this.

By the way there are some other libraries that make use of the MAX3421e. Such as one that is used to work with PS3 Bluetooth controller.

This link mentions those libraries because the shield  listed uses the same chip. http://www.circuitsathome.com/products-page/arduino-shields/usb-host-shield-2-0-for-arduino
