Topic: Can't upload to Arduino Uno but serialcall responce works! (Read 521 times) previous topic - next topic

Hi
I have two XP PCs with the Arduino software for an Uno installed.
Everything works just fine on one but not the other.
If I upload the example sketch SerialCallResponce using the "good PC" it works fine on both PCs as demonstrated by Tools/Serial Monitor responses and flashing Tx/RX leds.
If I try to upload anything from the troublesome PC the Tx and Rx leds flash then I get the error message -
"avrdude: ser_send(): write error: sorry no info avail" and the sketch does not run.

Ideas for a solution greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Tom

On the bad PC you didn't install the USB driver (if required) or you are not using the right COM port. Or both.
Please post technical questions on the forum, not by personal message. Thanks!

Hi Nick

Using the "wrong" USB port was the problem  - Thanks

The "bad" PC has 2 Dell monitors attached each with 4 USB ports but only one port works with the Arduino though all 8 ports work with what ever else I plug in!

Thanks again

Tom
