 Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

I am trying to make a 4-bit full adder circuit using the 7000 series logic ics. I plan on using:

2x quad AND gates ic

2x quad OR gates ic

1x quad XOR gate ic

using this diagram:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Full_Adder.svg

My first question is, is this possible?

Secondly i know that the output would be in binary, is there any ic capable of converting this binary into decimal to drive a 7 segment display?

Thanks in Advance.

enough IC's

you could use an Arduino as convertor smiley

or a 4511 IC - http://www.nxp.com/documents/data_sheet/74HC_HCT4511_CNV.pdf -

74LS08 Quad 2 i/p AND
74HC86 Quad EX-OR
74LS32 Quad 2-i/p OR

With that circuit I'd get 2x the XOR chip and 1x the OR chip.  In fact I'd get a spare of each too in case one gets damaged...

I assume you have a good reason to do this in hardware, it can't be speed because the result goes to an LED for (presumably) a human to read.
