Hi,
Recently got an LCD display in a kit, soldered the pins on and I wired it up to the "Hello World" project, did everything as I should and nothing appeared on the display. Checked all the connections and tried adjusting the pot and still nothing. Is there any way I could have broken it soldering the pins on? Is there any way to test it? How easy are these screens to break? Do I need to connect the back light pins up to see something?
Thanks
Owen

SORRY GUYS!!!
I had the screen protector on still and because of the poor lighting I wasn't able to see the text on the screen! MY BAD!! :D
Thanks anyway!

Many displays are visible without the backlight but the white on blue displays seem to be a variety that are almost impossible to see without the backlight.
