As usual, here is the pretty icon 'hack' for 1.0.1:


Also I changed the preferences file (to keep my 0023 arduino ide with other library folder).

Assuming the Icon is all that change affects, then step 2 works well.
I didn't want step 3 or need step 1 so haven't done those.
The fourth step however - replacing pde.jar doesn't work, it prevents arduino from loading.

Step 4 is a combination of 2 and 3 (to avoid the renaming to zip step). Requires that you copy the idesettings.txt to the arduino directory too. I guess you get the "reinstall arduino" error right?

Ah right. Yeah thats the error I got.

It doesn't matter though, I just renamed the file to a zip and changed the class file, and the icon looks great.

I don't think the old file will work, but I will update it here for sure when I had to update the modded version
