Hello All,
This is my first post to this forum as I just joined today..I have been trying to run project19 with the 8x8 matrix
LED's..The book says to import a timerone library and after reading this forum and other places I still cannot get it to work..I have tried this in Linux(Ubuntu), WinXP,Win7home 64bit and pretty much get similar results..
First In linux I have IDE version 0022 + dfsg-1 The timerone library I downloaded is the TimerOne-V9.zip....
I download it and extract timerone-v9.zip to put in my sketchbook folder..The instructions are if no libraries folder is in there to make one and put the entire extracted folder into it.I have done that ..When I open the IDE I get the following message:
"The library timerone-v9 cannot be used.Library names must contain only basic letters and numbers(ASCII only
and no spaces in it and it cannot start with a number)"
If i click OK the IDE opens up as normal..If I look under "File" and sketchbook I see the libraries and the TimerOne-V9 and it opens into ISRBlink..
I do not know if that is correct or not and how and if I should proceed..If I put in the project 19 sketch in the IDE and try to verify it an error comes up..Timer one was not declared in this scope..The yellow points to the line
Timer1.initialize (10000);

Am I doing something wrong? here..I am very new to arduino and indeed any coding and do not have a clue what's wrong..
I would appreciate any help but please, if you can, try to be specific as you can tell I am a noob at this but still have the desire to learn..
Thank you,
jolphil

I don't know why some people can't name files properly. But, since they can't, you need to. Rename the directory to have a valid name, like timerone.

Thank you PaulS
I will give it a try and report back here when I can

Wow!!! That was quick..kudos..
PaulS you hit the nail on the head with that suggestion..My software issues are gone and while I still have Hardware issues(possible wiring errors) .I can deal with that..
Thank you so much,
