I'm looking for the best IR Emitter to use with an Arduino Uno for remote control of IR appliances.
I've already got two YH70s from Maplin (www.maplin.co.uk/high-power-infrared-emitting-diode-2253), but their range/emitting distance isn't that great and they are quite directional.
I don't mind having to buy multiple emitters to create a better/stronger field. The more powerful the better (I'd ideally like to flood the room with IR, so that IR appliances can be controlled regardless of where they are in the room).

Those devices go to 100mA, perhaps you need to drive them with a transistor so you can provide the full 100mA (Arduino pins are not rated for that current).
