Hello!

iPhone camera modules sell pretty cheap on e-bay.

here for example an iPhone 4 one with 5MP for 15€:
http://www.ebay.ch/itm/Original-Apple-iPhone-4-4G-Kamera-Modul-Cam-Camera-Led-/220838178341?pt=Handy_Zubeh%C3%B6r&hash=item336afb2e25#ht_6765wt_1139

is it feasible to interface such a camera with arduino? Did anyone do so successfully (or for another model..)?

thanks

Hard to tell if that connector is 32 or 64 pins.  Either way it's likely to be hard to interface to.

I have the same question of the feasibility of integrating an iphone 4 camera module with an arduino mega 2560. I have located the pins out diagram. http://imageshack.us/f/219/picture6om.png/

I don't think you connected the grounds, Dave.

The camera probably has an I2C control interface.
That would be relatively easy to talk to.
Not so easy is the high speed parallel data interface.

I'm glad genesys started this thread!

The iphone cameras are from OVT. I was researching this a while back but got sidetracked.
It would be great to collaborate on how we can interface this with the Arduino boards.

The specs on these cameras are very impressive.
