Oregon Scientific produces alarm clocks that project the clock on the wall with a LED, but how the system works?

Good projects but I would like a picture on a modular LED and projecting it on the wall as in the system of Oregon.

I think that you must generate a RGB video signal, using a rgb led you to create the image.
