Is their anyway to put spaces or a new line in the monitor each time the Arduino reports a value to the computer?

Yes.
You can use println, or print a space

Yes, when in doubt look at the referance page from your IDE, they are all on that.

Serial.println(" Hi there "); // will print Hi there on a line by itself on the serial monitor
Serial.print(" Hi there ");   // will print Hi there on a line but the next serial print will follow it on the same  
                                    //line on the serial monitor.
