I'd like to replicate this Treemote project for Christmas 2013.  It is really cool!  I need to learn more about using a ribbon cable and Transmitter/Receiver.  I wish I had this guy's project details. smiley-small

He could be using WiFi (I would) or maybe BT as well. But why does it matter to YOU, as YOU could use any of these  methods?

Take the overall idea. Then use what you have to hand/understand to do the same thing. Eg I want to talk between my PC and an Uno.

Then I can use the serial (USB) cable and so on. After that its easy!. But the way you get the two things to talk is not the real problem!.
