Hello, I have just installed the new IDE, ver 1.0.2 and find the program startup very slow as well as program functions.
When opening the tools tab for instance it can take at least 15 secs to show the tab contents.
I am using windows 7 , 64 bit.
Has anyone else experienced this?

take off as many usb things as possible from the pc. Leave only one arduino connected. See if the situation improves.

Most likely the IDE gets stuck while searching for the (virtual) com port "generated" by the Arduino.

Try turning off bluetooth stuff, that's usually been a speed killer in the past.

This problem goes away replacing this dll: http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1237179908
Or using my mod: http://arduino.cc/forum/index.php/topic,118440.0.html

I have tried both solutions and still the compilation process is very slow.
is there is any other solution for this problem?

It can be some antivirus solution, or any security suite (one of these intrusive stuff).
