Topic: Question about a project in "Getting Started with Arduino" (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

I am sorry if this is the wrong forum or a duplicate, but I've looked everywhere else.

I have my Arduino Uno connected to a MacBook Pro and I can't get Example 8, the lamp, working. Everything is wired correctly, and the arduino is writing to the serial port, but Serial.available() is never > 0, so no data is coming in.

I some programming experience, but the last time I touched a breadboard was in 1990. How can I troubleshoot why the data isn't coming from the Processing app.

Thanks again for your time.

Example 8 in what? The Arduino examples don't aren't numbered like that, so I'm assuming it's out of some book. What is the code? Do you have the Baud Rates set to match? How are you sending the data?
