Hi,

I am I am working on a project that will allow me to control a lighting product design by a computer.

In that case, 

İ would like to position a part of my product down really slowly. ( like 10 cm in 6 hours. ) And change the colours of light at the same time.

Do you think i will be able to use arduino for that kind of project?

İ am totally new on this technology. And still researching alot.. Hope my questions are useful...

A stepper motor driving a threaded rod and controlled by an Arduino should be able to do the positioning.  The Arduino can easily control an RGB LED to control color.
