 Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

Hi there,

As you wil notice I'm not very experienced in Arduino yet, I can't get my Arduino wifi shield to work. I plugged it on to my arduino board.  What I do next is try this standard example code (below). All I get is a "wifi shield not present" message. Hope someone can help me with this...

Thanks in advance

Code:
/*

 This example connects to an unencrypted Wifi network.
 Then it prints the  MAC address of the Wifi shield,
 the IP address obtained, and other network details.

  }

    Serial.print("Attempting to connect to open SSID: ");
    Serial.println(ssid);
    status = WiFi.begin(ssid);

    // wait 10 seconds for connection:
    delay(10000);
  }

  // you're connected now, so print out the data:
  Serial.print("You're connected to the network");

The WiFi library and the code in the initial post works with the OFFICIAL WiFi shield, and ONLY the official WiFi shield.

The fact that you are NOT using the official WiFi shield means that you can NOT use the WiFi library.
